WHO KNEW? Rain Sensor System (Hunter Rain-Click Sensors)

🌧Due to all of the rain we have been experiencing, RAIN-CLIK Sensors have been placed in the community.  Since the sprinkler system is on a schedule and automatic timers, we have had an excessive amount of moisture in the lawn areas.  The rain sensors are designed to instantly shut down the irrigation system as soon as it starts raining.  Hopefully this will minimize any soft and muddy areas.  These sensors use a system of receivers and transmitters to communicate with the programming equipment in the irrigation system.  There are seven sensors that have been placed around the community (one each on the garages that have irrigation system controls for shared courtyards).

Some of you may notice that sensors have recently been mounted on roofs or gutters around the community.  The sensors look odd from a distance and are designed to detect rain and cold temperatures. They are fastened with a vice-like clamp so that they can be easily moved around as needed.  Sensors will be removed in the fall when the irrigation system is shut off for the winter.

If anyone happens to find a sensor that has fallen off a building, please give it to one of the board members or Berkshire Hathaway immediately.  They will need the location where the sensor was found to determine the original location for it.  A maintenance vendor for the sprinkling system will then be contacted to remount it on the building.

FYI the sensors cost about $260 each to replace, so it is important that they stay in place and are collected if they fall off.  Below are some photos of what the sensors look like!
