NEWSLETTER - September 2024 - Introduction

We’ve have seen lots of changes around the community this summer including a new roundabout, new neighbors, and the unfortunate loss of others. It is nice to see co-owners taking advantage of the monthly mobile library visits on the second Thursday of the month. With schools back in session, we will be seeing more traffic down the street, as well as football, turning leaves, and an abundance of fresh apples.

Key events this September include Labor Day on 9/2 followed by Read-A-Book-Day on 9/6 and Patriot Day on 9/11.  The 21st is especially significant in that it celebrates the International Day of Peace and is the beginning of Octoberfest.  Not to go unnoticed 9/22 is also Batman Day!  Transitional day is Sunday 9/22 when the Autumnal Equinox marks the official start of fall.

If you are a foodie at heart, plan to celebrate National Cheese Pizza Day on 9/5, International Bacon Day 9/7, National Cheeseburger Day 9/18, National Pepperoni Pizza Day 9/20, National Pancake Day 9/26, and National Chocolate Milk Day on 9/27. The ever-popular Drink Beer Day is 9/28--which I suspect triggered National Coffee Day on 9/29.

Whatever event, cause, relationship, hobby, or food you embrace, this month seems intended to somehow bring us together to acknowledge shared experiences, appreciate what we have and those around us.  I for one am looking forward to talking with my grandkids on the 9/19 for Talk-Like-a-Pirate-Day!
